Tourism Ireland have begun working on a new promotional programme for the Shannon region following the announcement of the new Aer Lingus Shannon to Paris service.
The Charles de Gaulle connection will begin three times weekly from the 17th of December and is expected to boost the number of tourists coming to the area, prompting the new marketing initiative on the Discover Ireland website

Meanwhile, the Clare Business Community has issued a warm welcome for the new Shannon to Charles de Gaulle flights.
In a statement from both Shannon and Ennis Chambers of Commerce, Helen Downes described the new Aer Lingus Route as a a strategic connectivity boost for Shannon Airport, and said demand from Chamber members for a central European connection has been consistent.
The Shannon Chamber Chief said members in Ennis and Shannon businesses to translate a stated requirement for a Shannon to Paris route into solid bookings in the months and years ahead.
