Thousands of people are expected to gather in Limerick City to ring in 2014.
The New Year will kick of Limerick’s Year-Long City of Culture Celebrations and organisors promise a family fun event starting with a new years eve pageant at 5.45 followed by a spectacular firework and lighting show at 8 o’clock.

Party goers can then ring in the new year with acts like The Strypes, The Coronas and Cranberries star Dolores O’Riordan.
Clare residents travelling to the celebration are being reminded that there will be road closures in operation and to follow all signs and diversions.
