Management at the world-famous North Clare attraction have confirmed a 14% increase in tourism numbers last year, bringing the total number of visitors in 2016 to almost 1.43 million people.

American visitors remain the number one market, with Germans in second, even ahead of the native Irish.

6.4% of all visitors were British, up from 4.5% in the year before, though Director of the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience Katherine Webster says it's something they'll watch in the year ahead.
