There'll be no change in property tax rates next year despite a proposal by Clare Fine Gael Council members to halve the current reduction to 7.5%.
A majority of Councillors, a mix of Independents and Fianna Fáil members, backed a motion to maintain Clare's current reduction of 15% following an intense political row at a meeting of the local authority yesterday.
