No End in Sight in Irish Rail Dispute

There seems to be little hope for a breakthrough on day two of strike action at Irish Rail, with tens of thousands of passengers disrupted.

No Intercity, Commuter or DART services are operating in the action which centres on pay cuts.

The strike by SIPTU and NBRU members at the company started yesterday, with three more days of disruption on the cards next month.

Unions say they've had no contact from the company or the government since the strike started.

Barry Kenny from Iarnrod Eireann says the company is facing insolvency, so the pay cuts are essential.
