Investigations to establish the identity of a body washed up in Fanore this morning, will continue into tomorrow.
A post mortem examination on the woman’s body will not take place until the morning, but it’s feared to be that of missing Ballyvaughan woman Deirdre McCarthy.
The Gardai have appointed a family lisason officer in this case who made contact with the family of Deirdre McCarthy shortly after this morning’s events in Fanore, but as no formal identification has yet been made, Gardai cannot confim whether the deceased is the missing 43 year old who hasn’t been seen since Sunday night.
