The recruits from Miltown Malbay, Lisdoonvarna, Clarecastle, Newmarket on Fergus and Killaloe were among the 152 Gardaí who took part in yesterday’s passing out ceremony in Templemore.

Garda Press have confirmed that none of the new recruits will be stationed in Clare, with the majority heading to Dublin, in an effort to allow more senior Gardaí to be transferred nationwide.

Ennis-based Garda Paul Crowley, the GRA’s representative for the county, says the changes in conditions will make a huge difference to the new recruits, but it won’t answer all their problems.
