Residents in Ballyvaughan and Fanore have voted overwhelmingly against proposals for a sea water power plant in North Clare.

Organic Power Limited had pledged to create several hundred jobs during construction but locals expressed concern about the plans which would have seen both wind and wave energy  stored up at a facility between Fanore and Ballyvaughan.
