The North's Secretary of State says it would have been very destabilising if Sinn Féin had withdrawn its support for police in the north and Theresa Villiers has welcomed Gerry Adams comments that he supports the PSNI.
Mr. Adams was questioned for 4 days by police investigating the IRA murder of Jean McConville.

He was released from custody in Antrim last night without charge and a file will be sent to the North’s Public Prosecution Service.
