Number of Covid Patients Climb And Overcrowding Spikes At UHL

The number of people being treated for Covid-19 at the region’s main hospital climbed over the weekend.

There were 43 Covid patients at University Hospital Limerick this morning, a rise of 5 on Friday’s figure.

The number receiving critical care in the ICU or High Dependency unit has remained unchanged at 9.

It comes as the INMO has reported a spike in numbers waitin to be admitted to the hospital once again, as the week begins.

There were 76 patients waiting for beds there this morning, 48 of those in the Emergency Department.
