The number of people claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment here in Clare is now at its lowest level since January.
Department of Social Protection figures show 7,533 people received the support this week, which is the lowest since level five restrictions were imposed in the first week of 2021.
It’s a near 8 percent drop in the past seven days, and almost half the peak number of people claiming the PUP here in May 2020.

More than 309,000 people in this country are still in receipt of the support – a fall of more than 24,000 people since the same time last week.
