Nurses seek management talks over bed closures

Nursing staff in the Mid West are seeking urgent talks with HSE management over its decision to cut beds and services at the regional hospital in Limerick.

Up to five hundred members of the INMO met yesterday to discuss their options after the Health Service Executive announced its plans last week

The cuts in services comes as the hospital  tries to reign in its budget, having overspent in the opening 5 months of the year by 14 million euro.

Noel Treanor, Industrial Relations Officer with the INMO says that nurses are angry at the way the HSE has brought in the changes.
