Management at the Old Ground Hotel say they’re working towards a ‘speedy resolution’, after being served with a temporary closure order under food safety legislation.
Officials from the HSE served the order against the secretary of Duesbury Ltd., trading as the Old Ground Hotel, on Thursday of last week, ordering the closure of kitchens, the Poets Corner Bar and ancillary food areas at it’s O’Connell St. premises.
The hotel says an issue has been identified with part of it’s drainage system, following recent refurbishment works, and the decision to temporarily close the main kitchen was a precautionary one, taken in consultation with local health authorities.
They say they’re now working in conjunction with authorities towards a solution, and that accommodation and bar facilities are unaffected
