The remains of murdered Ennistymon woman Emer O’Loughlin will be released to her family for re-internment in the local cemtery in the coming days.
New forensic tests on the exhumed remains of the 23 year old Art Student confirmed this week that she was murdered, and it’s understood the results revealed the art student may have suffered knife marks around the kneck and head injuries in a violent death.
Her body was discovered in a burned out caravan near her home in Tubber in April of 2005.
Following this week’s progress in the five year old investigation, Gardai are believed to be trying to build up a picture of what happened to Emer O’Loughlin and gather evidence regarding a possible suspect, who’s never been found.
