There is a one in a million chance of randomly contracting Covid-19 in the community, according to an infectious disease specialist.
It comes after the Government announced – most services will resume at the end of the month, including hairdressers, pubs and bowling alleys – following months of closure due to Covid-19.
Professor Sam McConkey from the RCSI says – due to the low numbers of infection in the past couple of weeks – there is a low chance of picking up the disease outside of settings that were hit hard by the outbreak.
