Continued concern has been expressed about ongoing issues relating to anti-social behaviour in Shannon, despite assurances from Gardaí.
In recent weeks, residents in the town have said they are living in fear of coming under attack from a small gang of youths.
However, Gardaí have now told local Councillors that there was no rise in the total number of assaults from 2016 to 2017 and they haven’t seen a spike in incidents in recent months, despite the attention on the issue.

Cathaoirleach of Shannon Municipal District Sinn Féin’s Mike McKee is concerned that despite these assurances, the problem is there.
