The outgoing Mayor of Clare insists the Ennis Mobility Plan was the only way to ensure that everyone accessing the town were kept safe during the pandemic.
Mary Howard has been reflecting on her tenure as Cathaoirleach, which comes to an end today, with her successor to be appointed this afternoon.
The Fine Gael Councillor was elected to the role in June last year, a month after pedestrianisation measures were put in place in Ennis, to support residents and the business community access the town safely during the pandemic.

Some businesses have raised concern over the impact of the measures on footfall to the town but Councillor Howard insists it remains the right decision.
