The Government has allocted over 17 thousand euro in funds to to assist Clare’s elderly.
Three groups will share the funds under the Scheme of Community Support for Older People, which helps people over 65 install security features such as personal alert alarms, smoke detectors and security lighting.
Over 6,500 euro has been given to Caring for Carers Clare, Ballynacally Community Alert have been granted 375 euro while Ennistymon Neighbourhood Watch is to be given almost 11,000 euro.

Ennistymon Councillor Martin Conway says the money will make a real difference for the elderly, particularly in rural Clare.
