Here in Clare over 13 hundred students will sit the leaving with more males than females taking the exams while more girls than boys are are sitting the Junior cert – a further 91 pupils are sitting the Applied Leaving Cert.
Authorities are reassuring candidates steps have been taken to ensure there’ll be no repeat of a mix-up last year which saw the wrong English paper handed out to a group of students in Louth.
