The workforce at a medical devices firm in Ballina/Killaloe is set to more than double as the firm expands its business through a 3 million euro investment.
Technopath which is based at the Fort Henry Business Park is set to create an additional 40 positions in the area of quality control which manufactures products for a number of multinational in-vitro diagnostic companies.
It will bring the company’s total workforce to 90 in the South East Clare area.
Speaking to Clare FM Jobs Minister Richard Bruton says Technopath’s success is a model of what we need to achieve in Ireland.
Local representatives in East Clare have welcomed today’s announcement as a much-needed boost for the county.
Fine Gael Councillor Joe Cooney is hopeful more announcements of this kind will come to Clare in the near future.
Meanwhile
250 new construction jobs are being created in Cork through a 150 million euro expansion of the Jameson Whiskey Distillery.
And earlier, the Agriculture Minister announced the creation of 142 positions at 21 seafood processing plants nationwide including one in Galway.
