Overcrowding Remains High at University Hospital Limerick

The Health Minister admits that progress on addressing delays in Ireland's emergency departments is slow, as figures here in the MidWest remain high.

Daily statistics from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says there are 33 people waiting on beds at University Hospital Limerick.

This is a reduction of 1 in the figure for yesterday, and a fall of 8 on the week's high-point that occured on Monday.

Minister Varadkar also insists there has been a similar reduction throughout the country, and speaking as he opened the Mater Private Hospital’s new Emergency Department in Dublin this morning, he insisted things are slowly improving.
