The Parnell Street Traders Association says next week's high-profile meeting on the rejuvenation of the area provides some hope to businesses there.
At last night's meeting of Ennis area Councillors, town mayor Pat Daly spoke of a "very serious situation" on Parnell Street, and said it was said to see so many properties closed there.

Councillor Daly has appealed to the owners of vacant business premises on Parnell Street to take action and improve their properties.
Secretary of the Parnell Street Traders and owner of Household Linens, Noreen Twomey Lynch hopes there'll be movement on the project in the coming months.
