A woman’s in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Ennis last night.
The incident happened on the Gort Road near Clare County Hospital shortly after eight o’clock.

The pedestrian believed to be in her forties was rushed to the Mid West Regional Hospital in Limerick.
A section of the Gort Road was closed for a time but reopened to traffic before eleven.
Investigating gardaí at Ennis say no arrests have been made but are appealing to anyone who may have witnesses the incident to contact them on 065 6848100
