People Urged Not To Be Complacent Despite Drop In Crime Levels In Clare

People in Clare are being urged not be complacent despite a significant drop in the number of burglary offences in this county.

Figures released by the CSO this week show that there were 55 burglaries in Clare in the final three months of last year, down from 129 in the same period 10 years previously.

The number of recorded crime incidents in Clare generally have also been on a downward trend over the past decade, despite nine of the county’s Garda Stations closing down in 2013.

Fine Gael’s Mary Howard, who’s Chair of Clare’s Joint Policing Committee, says it’s good news overall but people still need to be careful.
