Ennis is to make history as permission has been granted to build the world's first ever public fountain – that dispenses beer.
The 350,000 euro project is being rolled out to concide with this years Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann in August.
The Maid of Eireann fountain located on the Mill Road is to be modified by a specialist team of engineers who carried out a survey there last week.
However, the beer won't come cheap with those partaking will be charged around 6 euro per pint.
Mayor of Ennis Pat Daly is hailing at as a truly unique project which will provide a significant boost for tourism in the county.
