Possible toll of Ennis Bypass

Motorists travelling on the M 18 Ennis to Limerick Road could soon find themselves paying on double.

A major study by the National Roads Authority has recommended that a further eight routes across the state be tolled including the Ennis  Bypass.

Other stretches of road that could also seek motorists forking out include the N 20 at Croom in Limerick and the N17/18 Tuam Bypass.

Currently drivers pay 184 million euro to use existing tolled roads and they could soon be paying another 62 million if the NRA recommendations are implemented by government.
