To of Clare’s secondary schools have been praised in the latest round of school inspection reports, published by the Department of Education.
Officials found that the teaching and learning of science at St. Michael’s Community College, Kilmihil, was of a very high quality – the school’s ‘strong’ committment to on-going improvement was also given merit.

Inspectors also found that significant efforts were made to promote music at St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Miltown Malbay, and that the school was home to a good range of resources.
They did, however, recommend that ways to address what the report describes as a ‘significant gender imbalance’ should be explored.
