Praise for five Clare Secondary Schools

 

The Department of Education has praised five Clare post-primary schools following recent inspections of the sites.

The standard of music teaching in Saint Anne’s Community College, Killaloe has been described as ‘very good’ though the school has been urged to make the subject more attractive for boys.

St Michael’s Community College, Kilmihil was praised for it’s teaching of English, though the school’s board of management has been asked to prioritise the hiring of a permanent teacher for the subject.

Inspectors have also praised levels of French at Mary Immaculate Secondary School, Lisdoonvarna and of Construction Studies and Materials technology in St Joseph’s Secondary School, Tulla and say the Applied Leaving Certificate has a positive profile at Scariff Community College.
