Presidental hopeful Michael D Higgins will be in County Clare this weekend.
The former Labour TD who was raised in Newmarket on Fergus will speak at the close of the Merriman Summer School tomorrow morning.
The theme of this year’s conference has been " Changing Irish Childhoods- and among the other guest speakers over the past few days included Children’s Minister Francis Fitzgerald, Former Education Minister Mary O Rourke, Journalist Fintan O Toole and poet Gabriel Rosenstock.
