The latest book of a Kilnamona author has been announced as the An Post Irish Book of the Year 2020.
Dioreann Ní Ghríofa’s work, A Ghost in the Throat, was announced as the overall winner last night in a televised ceremony.
Her book, which combines memoir with an exploration of the work of 18th century Cork poet Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill, was chosen through a mix of public vote and judging.

Born in Co. Galway, Doireann Ní Ghríofa was raised in Kilnamona, and is now based in Cork.
