A three million euro upgrade to Shannon's wastewater treatment plant has entered the next stage.

In conjunction with Clare County Council, Irish Water has cleaned and surveyed over 30 kilometres of wastewater pipes as part of the project, to identify any repair, upgrade or replacement needs on the network.
Works are taking place at the Tradaree plant over the coming week and a half, and may result in temperary odours in some areas adjacent to the plant, as a result of the cleaning of tanks.
