Clare County Council say they're willing to collaborate with the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland on the roll-out of a Shop Mobility Scheme in the county.
It would provide battery-powered scooters and chairs – as well as manual wheelchairs – to people of limited mobility who wish to shop or visit leisure facilities here.

The Council's committment comes in response to a suggestion from West Clare Councillor Gabriel Keating, who is also the Chairman of the Clare branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association.
He says this scheme would greatly improve life for wheelchair users.
