It’s reported today Iranrod Eireann is proposing to develop high speed services on a number routes in response to faster times on the state’s new motorways.
The plan is subject, however, to Government approval of an additional €175 million in funding to improve speeds to Cork and Galway and then Dublin to Limerick and Waterford.
The works could result in a cut in journey times of between 15 and 30 minutes
