Public taps have been set up acoss Ennis and Shannon today to help the thousands of householders without running water after another night of sub zero temperatures.
Following an emergency meeting yesterday Clare County COuncil has also set up a dedicated helpline to offer technical support to residents whose pipes have frozen over the past two days.
The static pipes or taps in Ennis are located at Clarecastle Church, Cahercalla Estate on the Kilrush Road, The Gort Road Industrial Estate and Whitepark Cappahard Estate on the Tulla Road, while in Shannon they have been set up at the fire station, Drumgeely and the Old Lodge Hotel.
The taps and the water helpline will be available for 8 to 8 daily.
