Public Urged Not To Swim in South-East Clare Resevoir

The ESB is urging people not to swim at its resevoir in South-East Clare.

As the warm weather continues, swimmers are being altered to the dangers of a number of resevoirs, including the Ardnacrusha headrace and tailrace canal.

This is due to the risk of uneven ground, deep waters, changing water levels and fast-flowing waters.

Clare County Council has also urged people who wish to swim in public bathing areas to stick to blue flag beaches, where lifeguards are in attendance this bank holiday weekend.
