A full scale murder inquiry has now been launched into the death of Galway publican and Teacher John Kenny
Post-mortem results on the body of 56 year old revealed the father of one died as a result of an assault.
His body was discovered by members of his family at his pub in Oughterard at around 6 o’clock on Sunday evening.
His hands were tied behind his back – and the results of a post mortem examination carried out on his body last night show he died of an assault.
A murder investigation has now been launched and Gardaí say they’re following a number of different lines of enquiry.
It’s understood up to 40 people were in the pub on Saturday night and so far a number of them have given statements to the Gardaí.
But officers in Oughterard are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
So far no arrests have been made – as Gardaí continue to establish a motive for this vicious assault
