Queen Elizabeth to visit Croke Park

 

 

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth will continue her historic trip to Ireland today with a visit to Croke Park.

It’s another significant site – as it’s where British troops killed 14 civilians in 1920.

She’ll also be hosted at Government Buildings by Taoiseach Enda Kenny and his wife and she’ll visit the Guinness Storehouse where she will be shown the art of pouring the perfect pint of stout. 

Yesterday, tight security meant the public saw almost nothing of the Queen and Prince Philip.

But Mark Hennessy, of the Irish Times, thinks local interest will rise as the visit continues:
