The Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte is this morning holding talks with the board of RTE, to discuss last week’s report from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland over the libelling of Father Kevin Reynolds.
The report found that there were significant failures of editorial and managerial controls in relation to the ‘Mission to Prey’ programme.

The State broadcaster was also fined 200-thousand euro by the BAI for breaches of the broadcasting act.
On his way into this mornings meeting with the RTE board, Minister Rabbitte refused to say if he would be asking for any resignations.
He said he would make a statement after the meeting.
