The Communications Minister's insisting there is no squabble in Government over the Local Property Tax.
It follows reports that Fine Gael won't allow Clare County Council, and ten other local authorities, to cut the charge by up to 15% because they want to cut local government funding.
The Department of the Environment had proposed cutting funding in areas where there would be a surplus after residents pay the charge.

A number of recently elected Councillors had vowed to look at reducing the charge, and Shannon Independent representative Gerry Flynn wants the county's Oireachtas members to fight and ensure the local authority is given this option.
