The odourless, colourless, and potentially cancer causing gas remains most prevalent in the West and South of the Country, according to the latest survey, with 305 Clare homes above the normal rate, and 59 houses over four times the acceptable levels.
The Ennis area and the Burren are particular problem areas and Senior Scientist with the Radiological Protection Institute Stephanie Long says it’s easy to find out whether your home’s at risk of high radon gas levels.
The Radiological Protection Institute has an interactive website where you can look up your home and the levels in the surrounding area on http://www.rpii.ie/Your-Home.aspx
