The region’s rape crisis centre has called on the people of the Midwest to support them, as they continue to see an increase in women contacting their helpline.
Calls to Rape Crisis Midwest have jumped by more than 50% between March and September this year, particularly among those in their 20s and 40s.
The centre has been forced to move their annual Dainty Daisy fundraiser online due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The charity’s fundraising income has dropped by 75% so far this year – and Fundraising Manager Verena Tarpey says the issue is no longer ‘somebody else’s’ problem.
