Proposals to re-introduce passport controls at all European borders are being discussed by EU Justice Ministers in Brussels this afternoon.
The suspension of the passport free area – the Schengen zone – for two years, is part of the latest attempt to deal with the refugee crisis as well as being a response to the Paris attacks.

A number of countries, including France and Germany, have already reintroduced passport checks at their borders.
Ireland's not part of the Schengen zone but the move will affect Irish tourists and hauliers travelling across borders in mainland Europe.
