The consultant charged with the reconfiguration of health services in Ennis, Limerick and Tipperary says huge progress has been made in developing day care services at Clare’s County Hospital.
Contracts for the next phase in the centralisation of services – the development of a critical care unit at Dooradoyle- have been signed off this week with work expected to begin in August.
The development which will link with the existing hospital consists of a six storey block with over fifty beds and will cater for all complex surgery for the region
Dr Paul Burke who’s overseeing the reconfiguration project says this
coincides with the construction of a new fifty bed ward at Ennis which he belives will boost services in Clare considerably
