Record Low In Clare Fire Callouts This Halloween

The number of fire callouts in Clare over the Halloween period has hit a record low.

Clare County Fire and Rescue Service responded to seven bonfires over the past few days at a cost of €5,000 to the service – down significantly on the 19 callouts costing €25,000 in 2016.

Five bonfires were reported in Ennis and one each in Newmarket-on-Fergus and Shannon, while an incident in Westbury was attended by the Limerick Fire Service.
