Referendum row over future budget spends

The Minister for European Affairs has accused Sinn Fein of making up figures on the back of an envelope to support is call for a NO vote in the Fiscal Treaty referendum.

Sinn Fein claims a no vote would result in 6-billion euro worth of extra cuts and taxes – as Ireland would be forced to reign in its budgets.

The EU Affairs Minister Lucinda Creighton says those figures are not credible.

But the Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams says the best way to clear up the confusion is for the government to produce its figures.
