Nurses say the region's main hospital is suffering from the highest levels of overcrowding in the country today.
Figures from the INMO show 44 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 28 of those in the Emergency Department.

It comes on a day when 312 patients are waiting on trolleys across the country.
Tallagh and Beaumont Hospitals in Dublin are also experiencing high levels of overcrowding, with 36 and 35 people respectively waiting for beds.
