The Minister for Education is being called on to address the pupil/teacher ratio in Clare schools.
A County Council meeting has heard that the figure has remained static since 2007, and that there are up to 40 pupils in 'Supersized' classes in some schools here.

Former Mayor of Clare Councillor Pat Hayes says he's concerned tha tthis could have a serious effect on childrens' education in the long term, and wants procedures put in place to deal with the issue.
