New figures from property website Daft.ie found that in the third quarter of the this year, the average cost of a rental property in Clare was 581 euro, a fall of 143 euro on the same period last year.
This is one of the largest drops outside the main cities and Lenister.
Overall in Munster, rents fell by 4 percent in July, August and September.

The figures also show that Galway remained static in the third quarter of 2009.
