Concern has been raised after two separate reports of children mistreating animals in Clare in recent days.
In one case, three young boys hitting ponies with sticks while a second incident involved cats.
Cases of animal cruelty are increasingly common in the lead-up to Halloween in particular.

Clare County Dog Warden Frankie Coote is urging parents to speak to their children and says cases like this will not be tolerated.
