Respond Disappointed With Lack Of Progress On Homlessness In Clare

Respond has described the lack of progress on reducing the number of homeless in Clare and the region as disappointing.

New figures from the Department of the Environment show 16 people in the county were without a home at the end of last month, a rise of three since the beginning of the year.

213 people were homeless in Clare and Limerick in April, 48 of those children.

Respond's Mid-West representative Paul Hargaden says that while it remains a huge problem in the region, he's encouraged by statements made by the New Housing Minister in recent days.
